Digital SLR Cameras
Digital single lens reflex (SLR) cameras use the same lens for viewing and taking the photographs. The images are reflected onto a viewing screen by a moveable mirror that is inside of the camera. The mirror will flip out of the way just as the shutter is released. This allows the camera to receive the light. The picture you get in the photo is the same one you see through the lens.
SLR cameras are quite easy to use and versatile. They come with automatic, semi-automatic or manual control over the camera's shutter speed, focus and aperture. Most models will let you override the autofocus system with the manual focus. Digital SLRs come with camera bodies and are designed for use with assorted interchangeable lenses such as zoom and fisheye models. The cameras are also made to be used with many accessories such as tripods, monopods, remote shutter releases, and flashes. Most digital models are built with a small internal flash system, but they are also designed for using larger detachable and hand held flashes.
You can use these cameras underwater if you have the proper housing for them. Digital SLR cameras come in various sizes, shapes, colors and styles. They can range in price from a few hundred dollars to over $20,000.
