Photo Printers

Just because your camera is digital instead of a film model doesn't mean you can't print hard copies of your photos. Many digital cameras will let you hook directly into a printer enabling you to print off good quality black and white or color photos.

There are various types of printers, but inkjet models are the most widely used. All purpose and photo quality printers are the two basic types used. Good all purpose printers can print high quality images. Photo quality printers however, can print professional quality photos.

You can control your printer settings from a computer's printer driver. This will let you select paper type, print quality, page orientation and paper size. Make sure you choose the highest quality settings for superior reproduction and use quality paper. You can also clean the printer nozzles and align the print head via the computer. If the ink cartridge runs low most drivers will alert you. Make sure you let your photos dry properly before storing them.

Printers come in various sizes, shapes and styles. Inkjet printers can range in price from about $50 to over $1,000.
