Color Photo Paper
When you have taken your photos, you need to develop them on printing paper. Color photo papers have a three layered emulsion on a paper base. Color photo printing papers are designed for printing color negatives or color transparencies. Color printing papers are identified by the suffixes color for color prints and chrome for color transparencies. These papers come in various cut-sheet sizes ranging from 5 by 7 to 20 by 24 inches and in rolls up to 1,000 feet long.
The properties and characteristics of paper are similar to those of film. These include emulsion sensitivity, spectral sensitivity, contrast and paper surfaces. The overall use and performance of the color printing paper depends on the paper's properties. Some papers are coated with clear polyethylene or resin on both sides. This protects the paper from nicks and helps them from sticking to each other during developing. Papers are available in various surfaces including matt, semi matt, luster, high luster, pearl and glossy. If possible, store the paper in a fridge and use before the expiration date. Remember to handle the paper only by the edges. You can get 50 sheets of 11x14 inch glossy, coated paper for about $30.
