Timers
One of the smallest, but most important darkroom items is a timer. Every darkroom really needs to have a reliable timer. A good timer should have both a minute hand as well as a second hand. The hands on some timers are also are fluorescent so they glow in the dark. Digital timers are now becoming popular in the darkroom. An ideal timer should also have an alarm buzzer to let you know when your processing time is up. Some timers can be set from just a tenth of a second up to an hour or more. Make sure your timer is both reliable and accurate and that you have a clear and unobstructed view of it. Timers come in various sizes, designs and styles. They can range in price from about $20 to $250.
