Since days gone by, people made sure their weddings were well photographed since it marked a once in a lifetime event. Special occasions, after all, are worthy of a few rolls of film, a DVD or a memory card. Many people hire professional wedding photographers for the special day, but others are now asking friends and relatives to take a few shots for them or to film it.
There are actually a few different ways to photograph a wedding: you can do it in a photojournalistic, illustrative, creative or impressionistic manner, but you will need to decide before the wedding. You should also know the photography etiquette for the wedding you are attending as the procedures may vary from wedding to wedding. You may or may not be able to use flash.
Make sure you get a good view of the proceedings and have the proper equipment and backup. You wouldn't want your battery's life to be over just as the happy couple is pronounced man and wife. It would also be a good idea to attend the rehearsal so you know when and where to take the photos during the wedding.
